The pandemic, the economic crisis and the war in Ukraine have led many auto giants to rethink their supply chains, bringing suppliers as close as possible to avoid shortages of materials

The increase in the cost of energy is having a negative impact on the running costs of electric cars. In October 2021, it cost 50 to 70% less to charge the battery of a zero-emission car compared to filling up the tank of a petrol or diesel powered car. Today, it can even cost more.  

The limits imposed by the new Euro 7 regulation would have put a strain on the production of new internal combustion engine vehicles. Rumours from Brussels suggest that the European Union is working towards equating Euro 7 limits with the current Euro 6 standard.  

Besides saying goodbye to internal combustion engines, European automobile manufacturers will be required to review their strategies, starting with a “short” supply chain. It is one of the main objectives of the project to produce batteries for electric cars directly on the old continent.

We need to realize, as quickly as possible, that we are living in a totally different period marked by inflation compared to the past, otherwise, at the end of the year, the risk is finding nasty surprises in the final balance sheet
