Changes and decisions
Renzo Servadei – CEO Autopromotec
Autopromotec Conference – State of the Industry 2018 proved to be the perfect setting to investigate the changes affecting mobility as a whole as well as the aftermarket industry, focusing throughout the two day event on the simplest of messages: due to these changes we are all compelled to make choices.
The 2018 edition of Autopromotec Conference – State of the Industry was a huge success. With the help and participation of as many as 37 speakers, all of whom deserve our sincere appreciation for the precious contribution made, we addressed on behalf of 500 participants a number of useful ideas for their work with a special focus on making decisions. Some argue - and it is an interesting theory - that if you have all, and I mean all, possible information around a given critical situation, then no decision needs to be made: the data in hand will tell us exactly what must be done. However, in a scenario marked by such rapid, profound and complex changes (in short disruptive, as our speakers pointed out), such as the current global mobility industry, possessing all the data is simply impossible, and even unthinkable.
Therefore, the need to make decisions is becoming progressively urgent for all the players in our supply chain: how can we cope with our rapidly transforming world? What actions must be taken if we are to be active stakeholders who are protagonists rather than mere spectators? For this reason we decided to investigate the changes affecting mobility as a whole as well as the aftermarket industry, focusing throughout the two day event on the simplest of messages: due to these changes we are all compelled to make choices. Spectators can stay in the game for a while, but not forever. This message might seem threatening to some, but the aim of the Conference was to direct it to our interlocutors with a constructive spirit, along with new strategic ideas, new prospects and know-how.
And while we sincerely hope we have been able to sow a few good and productive seeds, we now look forward to the next Autopromotec event scheduled for 2019, where a number of companies will take the floor and highlight the solutions they will be ready to offer to a market that is rapidly moving towards the future. Meanwhile, our Autopromotec Blog will continue to impart, especially for those who were absent, pearls of wisdom from the Conference which are more than certainly worthwhile considering.
