As Futurmotive – Expo and Talks approaches, the organizers have set off the promotional machine. And they chose to start presenting the event to the Italian press in a venue where one might “breath” the future
It’s about time to talk about Futurmotive – Expo and Talks, the international exhibition for the future of mobility, energy and ecology transition and innovation in the automotive industry, the event organized by Autopromotec and scheduled on 16-18 November in the Bologna Exhibition Centre. As a steppingstone for the promotional activities to present their brand-new event, the organizers chose a futuristic venue, STEP FuturAbility District (what’s in a name, one might say) in Milan. There, all the participants were welcomed by a contemporary art installation (part of the venue and realized by the architectural firm Giò Forma), stating Tu Sei Futuro – that is, you are the future. That’s what we call a grand entrance.

Futurmotive – Expo and Talks was hence presented to the national press, and to do so organizers chose to invite some special guests among the speakers to broaden the conversation. Yes, because this meeting was intended more as a sort of a think thank rather than a mere press conference, a place where confronting and discussing about the future of the automotive industry. It is no secret that the entire industry is undergoing a profound, possibly unprecedented transformation, which must be addressed with wise awareness not to fall behind.
With the help of Filomena Greco, journalist of one of the most influential economic newspapers in Italy and host for the occasion, speakers discussed their view about the future of the mobility industry, with a special focus on the Italian perspective. Gianmarco Giorda, General Manager of the Italian Association of the Automotive Industry (ANFIA), one of the leading Italian trade associations, highlighted the importance of an infrastructure plan in order to make possible the transition of the Italian automotive industry, hence supporting the investments of the small and medium sized companies of the sector to reconvert their business. Likewise, Roberto Vavassori, Chief Public Affairs & Institutional Relations Officer and Board Member of Brembo underlined how the entire supply chain of the Italian automotive components must once again prove its flexibility, creativity and ability to adapt.
When talking about the Italian automotive industry, we proudly include some top-quality car makers – the top brands born in the so-called “Motor Valley” area, that particular industrial district of the Emilia-Romagna Region which was the birthplace of some of the most distinguished high-performance car makers. One of the representatives of such excellencies, Andrea Pontremoli, CEO of Dallara Automobili, took part in the press conference, focusing on the importance of redesigning – that is, shortening – the supply chain thus making it the true added value for the industry. Also Eugenio Razelli was there in his role as President of the Motor Valley Accelerator, investment fund focused on mobility startups, who believes that within the ecological transition – a process started some years ago and which has yet to unfold completely, the Open Innovation will contribute significantly.
Together with the speeches given by representatives of trade associations and companies, important feedback during the press presentation was that given by a member of the Italian institutions, Mr. Roberto Luongo, Managing Director of ITA – Italian Trade Agency, who endorsed the activities of Futurmotive – Expo and Talks, assuring a solid support especially in terms of presence of foreign business operators at the event.

To conclude, it was then the turn of the Autopromotec CEO Renzo Servadei, host on this occasion, who wanted to stress the driving force (or, better, the driving thought) behind Futurmotive – Expo and Talks: promoting technological neutrality and adopting a scientific and systemic attitude when dealing with energy and ecological transition. That is, embracing all technologies in the field, as to allow the industry to identify the correct solution to face this (ground-breaking) process.
So, what is Futurmotive – Expo and Talks all about? The new event will bring together participating companies in an exhibition space of approximately 25,000 square metres, showcasing a full range of technological innovations and solutions to address global challenges in the automotive world, in a format designed to foster an effective interaction between companies, institutions and industry opinion leaders. The main areas of interest will be alternative fuel systems, components, equipment, tyres and new materials. Ample space will also be devoted to the topic of remanufacturing and innovations related to the world of connectivity and service and repair networks.

An event not to be missed for the entire industry.
